Communication Problems My home insurance company provided Hardin as a contact to diagnose and repair the blower motor on my furnace. This is my experience with Hardin. I called and scheduled an appointment for after I arrive at home from work, at 3:30. I received a call at 2:30, on the day of my appointment from their technician, telling me he was at my home to repair my furnace. I explained to him that I wouldn't be home for another hour, and if he can't wait, I would reschedule. He called his office and told me I would have to schedule another appointment. I chalked this up to either Hardin attempting to fill a vacant spot in their scheduling, or miscommunication with their scheduler. Not a big problem. The technician arrived on time on the day of the next appointment. He inspected the furnace and determined that I would need a new blower motor. He took a picture of the motor and told me I would receive a call when they received the replacement motor. The technician was very friendly and seemed properly knowledgeable for the task at hand. I was very satisfied with our encounter. I received a call a couple of days later saying the motor was in, and scheduled another appointment at 3:30. The technician(s) arrived shortly before 4:00. He apologized for being late and introduced me to an additional technician who was there to help. After removing the covers on the furnace, and opening the box of the new motor, the technician discovered that it was not the same motor (the OEM motor) that was installed. He stated that he typically preferred to install the OEM motor rather than use a universal motor like the one he had. He called someone on the phone, and confirmed that he would have to modify the kill switch if he installed the universal motor. I told him to do whatever he thought was best. He said again that he would prefer to install the OEM motor, but he would have to order it and would have to return later. He said I would receive a call when the other motor arrived. I received a voicemail from their scheduler asking me to call them. I assumed it was to schedule another appointment. When I called, the scheduler explained that my home insurance company wouldn't pay for an OEM motor and that the universal motor had to be used. I told her that I understood and didn't have a problem with this. Then she explained that I would be charged a "return fee" because I refused to have the universal motor installed. I explained to her that i didn't refuse the motor and that I was fine with having the universal motor installed. Then she seemed to start digging for other reasons to charge the return fee and said that I missed my original appointment too. I was livid at this point and told her that I wanted to speak with a manager. She explained that she would have to have the owner call me at a later time. When the owner called me, I was still pretty angry, but I tried to explain to him what had happened. He seemed to feel what he had to say was more important and expressed his thought that I kept interrupting him, so I bit my tongue, stopped interjecting, and listened to what he had to say in his entirety. He said that it had cost him several man hours performing the work at my residence, but also stated that $90 wouldn't break him. I attempted to explain what had happened again, and he just didn't seem to want to hear what I had to say. I believe at a point during the conversation he put me on speaker phone so that others in the room could hear our conversation. We ultimately agreed to have the universal motor installed and for me to call and schedule an appointment. Ultimately Hardin told my insurer that I refused the universal motor. I told my insurer to provide me with a different service provider because I don't trust companies that operate in this fashion. They may be a good company, but my experience left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I will never use, or suggest Hardin to anyone.

I had my HVAC unit serviced by Hardin Bros. today and I'm happy to give them 5 stars for their professionalism, promptness, and service. From the first call to setting up the appoint, to the notification system, and the Technicians that performed the service (Matt and Jacob) they were knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. It was an all around great experience. I recommend giving them a call !!

Matt, our tech, was professional, efficient, and thorough. Our AC unit blew out over night during a 90-100 degree heat wave and they fit us in same day. They didn’t have to, but found a way to make it work despite not having any availability with extremely high demand. Highly recommend and my family thanks them as we are now protected from the high temperatures.
